Abstract
Disclosed is a wire basket suction cup wall or flat surface hanger with a hard shell. The hard shell includes a central threaded hole and a central recess for the fastener and two opposing channels in the surrounding ring about the central recess, so that a straight bar held by the fastener is retained and located in the two opposing channels. In tightening the fastener, the suction cup adheres to the flat surface. The grip for releasably securing items to a surface includes a suction cup with a screw partly embedded therein; a hard domed cylindrical overlay having an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface at least partly defining a hollow for receiving the suction cup. The overlay also includes a substantially central hole for receiving the screw therethrough such that it protrudes from the outer surface; and a nut for engagement with the screw at the outer surface. The outer surface of the overlay includes a centrally located depression that includes the hole and at least one groove extending from the depression. The overlay includes a rim defining the periphery of the hollow and the suction cup includes a flange extending over the rim of the overlay. The rim of the overlay includes projections for engagement with the flange of the suction cup. The nut is configured to fit within the centrally located depression.
