Abstract

A cricket stump and bail assembly including at least one stump, at least one bail (1, 2) and at least one indicator (34, 35) responsive to a trigger event which indicates to an observer that displacement of either the bail (1, 2) or the stump has occurred from a first position to a second position. Assembly also includes an electronic circuit (3) retained inside either the bail (1, 2) or the stump. The circuit (3) incorporates the indicator (34, 35) and includes a power source (54) capable of activating the indicator (34, 35). A sensor is capable of detecting the displacement in response to the trigger event and enables the power source (54) to activate the indicator (34, 35). The indicator is at least one LED.
