Abstract

Disclosed is a single use pouch with a pouring spout dispenser, is made from a single web for storing fluid or liquid product. The pouch allows sterile storage and easier manufacturing along with reduced residual product remaining in the pouch once used. The single-use pouch comprises a web folded to form a pouch having a front panel, a back panel, a top edge, a bottom edge, and two side edges. The top edge, the bottom edge and one of the two side edges are sealed while the other of the two side edges is a fold line, and the front panel and the back panel define an interior space A liquid human milk fortifier product is contained in the interior space. The interior space includes a body and a spout, one side of the spout defined by the fold line, and the spout in fluid communication with the body and through which the product is dispensed from the pouch. The fold line acts as a channel to guide liquid product from the body towards an opening at the end of the spout. A width of the pouch is at least three times a width of the spout. The interior space includes a transition portion connecting the spout and the body, wherein the transition portion defines a travel path for the liquid product, and the travel path is at an angle to the fold line. At least one of the front panel and the rear panel includes a line of weakness positioned between the top edge and the body, and in a path transverse to the spout. A gripping portion is positioned between the top edge and the body. The gripping portion includes a portion of the front panel sealed to a portion of the back panel. At least one of the front panel and the rear panel includes a line of weakness positioned entirely within the gripping portion.
