Abstract

A container such as a shipping or transport container with an open top is disclosed. The container has an openable top cover arrangement in the form of a tarpaulin (not shown). The arrangement includes first and second parallel rails (3.024) extending along opposite edges of the top aperture and a plurality of bows (3.012) which support the tarpaulin. Each bow terminates in a runner (3.016) adapted to cooperate with the rails (3.024). The container includes a weather shield (see Fig. 5) across the front of the aperture which covers at least the front bow when the cover is in the closed position.
