Abstract
A word forming game comprises a) a plurality of first pieces, b) a plurality of second pieces and c) a set of rules. Each first piece bears one letter of the alphabet and each second piece bears more than one letter of the alphabet. The rules direct that i. a player must draw a plurality of the first pieces and at least one of the second pieces; ii. the player must use the first and second pieces to create words by placing the first playing pieces in proximity to the second playing piece; iii. the player must draw further first pieces and place these proximate pieces already used to make a word to make further words; iv. the player may rearrange the first and second pieces to create new or different words; and v. a game score be allocated to the player depending on the word(s) created from the first and second pieces.
Claims (5)
1. A method for playing a word forming game, comprising the steps of: a) obtaining a plurality of first pieces wherein each bears one letter of the 5 alphabet; b) obtaining a plurality of second pieces wherein each bears more than one letter of the alphabet; c) a player drawing a plurality of the first pieces and at least one of the second pieces; 10 d) the player using the first and second pieces to create words by placing the first playing pieces in proximity to the second playing piece; e) the player drawing further first pieces and placing these proximate pieces already used to make a word to make further words; f) the player rearranging the first and second pieces to create new or 15 different words; and g) allocating a game score to the player depending on the word(s) created from the first and second pieces.
2. A method of playing a word forming game according to claim 1, wherein there are 20 at least some wild card pieces used to designate any letter and the wild card pieces can be used in the same way as the first pieces.
3. A method of playing a word forming game according to claim 1 or 2, wherein at least some of the second pieces each bear three or more letters.
4. A method of playing a word forming game according to claim 1, 2 or 3, wherein at least some of the second pieces each bear four or more letters.
5. A method of playing a word forming game according to any one of the preceding 30 claims, wherein at least some of the letters of at least some of the second pieces are not colinear.
