Abstract

600770 An actuator assembly for a mortice lock (1) is disclosed. The lock includes a bolt (7) biased towards an extended position with an inner hub (14) and an outer hub (15) operable to move the bolt (7). A detent means (17), in an active condition, renders the inner (14) and/or outer (15) hub inoperable. The actuator assembly (18) includes a housing, an inner cam and an outer cam each rotatable from outside the lock for example by a snib or cylinder lock. Each cam is selectively operable in either a latching mode to operate the bolt (7) independently of the hubs (14, 15) or in a locking mode to operate the detent means (17) thereby locking or unlocking the hubs (14, 15).
