Abstract

A wire roll lifting apparatus including a mounting platform having two spaced apart legs with a mounting base pivotally attached between the two legs; said legs are attachable to a forklift vehicle by the forks of the forklift; a support arm mounted or mountable to the mounting base, the mounting base moveable between a first position where the mounting base has a planar axis substantially in line with the planar axis of the legs and a second position wherein the mounting base is substantially perpendicular to the legs; and a lock means to lock the mounting base to one or both of the legs when the mounting base is in the first position; wherein the support arm is inserted into the wire roll with the mounting base in the second position and the support arm in a horizontal orientation and the wire roll is raised to a vertical orientation by reverse movement of the vehicle, lowering of the forklift and contact of the mounting base with the ground creating rotation of the mounting base to the first position with consequent movement of the support arm and wire roll to a vertical orientation.
