Abstract

596293 A staple gun tacker is disclosed for driving staples. The tacker comprises a housing having a staple driving end including a staple discharge opening and a wire guide (36) mounted in the housing for linear movement between extended and retracted positions. The means (30) for moving the wire guide comprises a cam member (32) rotatably mounted in the housing having an edge portion (38) which extends laterally out of the housing on opposite sides of the housing to permit manual rotation. The cam has a substantially semi-circular slot (46) with one end of the slot located closer to the axis of rotation (34) of the cam than the other end of the slot. Rotation of the cam causes movement of the wire guide between the extended and retracted positions.
