Abstract

591963 Disclosed is a packaging unit particularly for holding an adhesive dressing. The unit has a material strip (25) folded to form an enclosure (22), the enclosure (22) being sealed substantially along the edges of the material strip (25) to form an upper (23) and lower (24) layer. The upper (23) and lower (24) layers can be separated upon the application of pulling force on either end of the material strip (25) adjacent to the enclosure (22). The packing unit is configured to allow a user to separate the upper (23) and lower (24) layers and expose the contents of the enclosure (22) in a single fluid movement and apply the contents of the enclosure to a user's skin using only one hand using a rotating motion with a user holding either end of the material strip (25). The contents of the enclosure (22) include a first adhesive surface to be applied adjacent to the skin and a second adhesive surface adjacent to the lower layer (24) of the material strip (25). The first adhesive surface has a greater adhesive strength to the skin than the adhesive strength of the second adhesive surface to the lower layer (24) of the material strip.
