Abstract

A screw pile comprising a shaft (12) and at least two blades (22, 24) extending outwardly from the shaft. Each blade has a leading edge (30) that contacts earth as the screw pile is screwed into the ground. The leading edge of each blade includes two or more straight edge portions extending at different angles to each other. The straight edge portions include a first straight edge portion (32) extending radially from the shaft and a second straight edge (34) portion extending at an obtuse angle from the first straight edge portion.
