Abstract

The disclosure relates to the choking problem of the existing sink strainers. The new design has a water outlet 7 and a residues settlement area 8. See figure 7 for the concept design. The water outlet is designed above the surface of the sink and the settlement area is below the surface. The residues will eventually settle down in the settlement area when the water flows through the strainer. The water outlet will not be covered by the residues as it is above the surface, With these two features it is stated that there is no choking.

Description

561267 New Zealand No.: 561267 International No.: PCT/SG2005/000409 PATENTS FORM 5 Number PATENTS ACT 1953 Dated COMPLETE SPECIFICATION CHOKELESS SINK STRIANER I, Ho Yeong Cherng of BIk 525 Serangoon North ave 4 #04-72 Singapore (550525) do hereby declare the invention for which I pray that a patent may be granted to me, and the method by which it is to be performed, to be particularly described in and by the following statement. 1 561267 New Zealand No.: 561267 International No.: PCT/SG2005/000409 Background of the invention Currently, the sink strainers 3 in the market are designed lower than the surface 1 of the sink 2 as shown in Fig. 1.
This design has a problem. It causes the sink to choke when the residues eventually settle down and cover the area 4 of the strainer as shown in Fig. 2.
In the new design, the strainer is above 5 and below 6 the surface of the sink as shown in Fig. 3.
As the residues settle on the area 6 as shown in the Fig.4 below the surface of the sink. The part 5 that is above surface of the sink will not be covered by the residues and leave behind an outlet for the water to escape and eventually prevent choking the sink.

Claims (2)

Claims The claims defining the inventions are as follow:
1. A chokeless sink strainer comprises of feature 1, is the filter (i.e. the area with holes 7 as shown in Fig. 5) portion above the surface of the sink that prevents any settlement of residues and leave behind an outlet for the water to escape and feature 2, a trough-like arrangement of the filter (i.e. the area with holes 8 as shown in Fig. 6) portion below the surface of the sink that allows settlement of the residues so that the residues will not block up the first feature.
2. A chokeless sink strainer substantially as described herein with reference to the top view 9 and side view 10 in Fig. 8, Fig.9 and Fig.10. 3
