Abstract

A moulded or cast frame for association with a below surface utility chamber to define an entrance to the utility chamber. The frame includes; a surround of an opening, the opening to allow entrance to the utility chamber below, an outer wall or skirt depending downwardly from the surround, and an inner wall or skirt bounding the opening and depending downwardly from the surround, there being at least one inwardly directed flange or step from the inner wall. The outer wall has a lowermost surface, and at least one of the inner wall, flange or step or extension or extensions thereof has a lowermost surface, the lowermost surfaces presenting to collectively form downwardly directed bearing surfaces, the frame being adapted to sit substantially above a hardened filler material and being supportable from the hardened filler material from below by the downwardly directed bearing surface. A plurality of support means extend between the frame and the utility chamber. The support means space the frame adjustably from the utility chamber. The support means are adjustable for varying the positioning in-situ of the frame member relative to the utility chamber.
