Abstract

A process for the clarification of aqueous process streams containing biosolids. The process comprises contacting an aqueous stream comprising biosolids with: a) an anionic inorganic colloid; and b) an organic polymer having a number average molecular weight of greater than 1,000,000 and is selected from the group consisting of cationic polymers, amphoteric polymers, and mixtures thereof; whereby flocculated biosolids are produced.
