Abstract

The promoter comprises the DNA sequence (shown in the figure) or alternatively may comprise a fragment of this sequence including residues 284 to 409. In a vector, the promoter may be expressively linked to a further DNA sequence encoding a polypeptide such as B-cell or T-cell epitopes, CTL epitopes or the 37kD extracellular/secretory protein of Trichostrongylus colubriformis. Recombinant host cells containing this vector may be used in compositions for inducing an immune response in an animal. The hybrid iron-regulated promoter can be induced to hyper express the polypeptide encoding genes, providing an optimal dose to the host immune system.
