Abstract

method of manufacturing culture rope comprises spinning a plurality of primary longitudinal fibres or fibre bundles 21, 22, 23 to form rope, whereby at the spinning stage, a secondary attachment means 24, 25 is spun into the rope structure so that the resulting rope has a plurality of lateral fibre loops 26 protruding from the rope along its length. The secondary attachment means may be in the form of a woven strip having warp and weft, the weft corresponding to the plurality of lateral fibre loops. The loops may be cut at their distal ends. The rope may be made from polypropylene.
