Claims

WHAT I CLAIM IS:

1. A vertically mountable storage rack for pamphlets, papers and the like, said rack including a rear wall; a front wall spaced from said rear wall and substantially parallel to said rear wall, said front wall extending substantially vertically; an open top and a base interconnecting lower ends of the front and rear walls; and wherein said base is inclined upwardly from a lower edge of said rear wall to a lower edge of said front wall such that a stack of said articles placed in the storage rack on said base will have upper edges of the articles bias towards the front wall of said rack.

2. A storage rack as claimed in claim 1 wherein said storage rack, in use, has a stack of articles placed in the storage rack and the storage rack is dimensioned such that the top edge of the front wall is above the top edge of the articles in said rack.

3. A storage rack as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 wherein a finger cavity is defined in, or is in conjunction with, the rear wall.

4. A storage rack as claimed in Claim 3 wherein said finger cavity is defined in a flap extending from the upper edge of said rear wall and partially overlying said rear wall.

5. A storage rack as claimed in any one of the preceding claims wherein said rack further includes retaining means constructed and arranged to retain a sample pamphlet, paper or the like in contact with the outer surface of said front wall.

6. A storage rack as claimed in claim 5 wherein said retaining means to retain a sample is dimensioned to contain a full sized sample of the pamphlet, paper or the like. -14- 23089 0/234

7. A storage rack as claimed in claim 5 or claim 6 wherein said retaining means further defines a transparent covering surface for the sample pamphlet, paper or the like.

8. A storage rack as claimed in any one of the preceding claims wherein said rack includes a plurality of dividers to divide said rack into a number of laterally adjacent pockets.

9. A method of forming a storage rack for pamphlets, papers and the like from a bendable sheet material, said method comprising the steps of locating side wall members at or adjacent opposite edges of a strip of bendable sheet material such that the planes of the side members are substantially parallel to the respective edges and folding said sheet material about said side members to define a rear wall, a front wall substantially parallel with said rear wall and a base interconnecting the lower ends of the front and rear walls and wherein said base is inclined upwardly from a lower edge of said rear wall to a lower edge of said front wall when said rack is mounted on a vertical surface.

10. A method as claimed in claim 9 further including locating dividing members on the sheet material between said side members and substantially parallel to said side members to define intermediate spacers between said front and rear walls.

11. A method as claimed in claim 9 or claim 10 wherein the distal end of the sheet material adjacent the sheet section which defines the rear wall is folded inwardly such that, in the finished rack, said distal end extends partly down the inner side of said rear wall.

12. A method as claimed in claim 9 or claim 11 wherein the distal end of the sheet material adjacent that part of the sheet which defines the front wall is folded outwardly and downwardly -15- 230890/2346J1 to, in combination with the outer surface of said front wall, define a retaining sleeve.

13. A method as claimed in claim 9 or claim 12 when applied to the formation of a pamphlet storage rack wherein the bendable sheet material is transparent plastic sheet.

14. A method as claimed in claim 12 further including preforming said bendable sheet material with slots and cutouts prior to bending said sheet material about said side members.

15. A vertically mountable storage rack substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
