Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing peracetic acid by continuous ly feeding hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid to an aqueous reaction medium in a reactor , reacting said hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid in the reaction medium to peracetic acid and continuously distilling off said peracetic acid, wherein the feed of acetic acid is regulated based on a set value for the temperature of the reaction medium.
