Abstract

The coating applicator (30) includes a housing (40) and a roll applicator (70) rotatably coupled to the housing (40). The housing (40) has a supply port (46a, b) intended for receiving coating composition from a coating mixture supply (80), an exit slot (47) and a passage (45a, b) extending from the supply port (46a). b) and to the exit slot (47). The passage (45a, 45b) receives coating mixture from the supply port (46a, b) and delivers the coating mixture to the output slot (47) so that the coating mixture exits the housing (40) and is received on an outer surface (72) of the roll applicator (70). The roller applicator (70) is arranged at a distance from the housing (40) so that the housing (40) has no significant contact with the coating composition as soon as it is received on the roller applicator (70).
