Abstract

The unit consists of a coaxial plug module with coaxial plug connectors arranged in a multiple plug casing, and/or a coaxial socket module with coaxial socket connectors arranged in a multiple socket casing. The coaxial plug module and/or socket module (1) is fastened on a base, such as a printed circuit board, and is connected with its terminals to the associated connections at the underside of the base. The inner coaxial conductors (22) are inserted in, and electrically isolated from the respective outer coaxial conductors (21) integrated in the casing (3, 43) of the coaxial plug/socket module. The casing material of the coaxial plug/socket module consists of a metallized plastic, and comprises a number of support surfaces at its lower surface, formed of contact feet (5, 6) with SMD connections (7, 8), which serve both for the mounting of the casing, as well as for the electric connection of the SMD connections with the respective connections on the base. The contact feet are arranged at the edges of the periphery of the casing and on the same level as the SMD connections which project slightly from the floor (9) of the casing. The metallic layer deposition of the casing is divided between the metallic layer deposition of the contact feet and the SMD connections (8) for the inner conductors, and the remaining metallic layer deposition of the casing, into electrically separated layer areas for a galvanic separation.
