Abstract

The invention pertains to a process and a device for sorting mixed waste material from construction or the like. Once the mixed waste material has been reduced to a grain size of less than 60-80 mm, it is separated in a vibrating separation tube (5) into a fine portion and a coarse portion. The resulting fine portions are then cleansed to obtain a reusable inert portion, using incoming and outgoing air flows (10, 11) to extract floating particles, after which the coarse portion is divided by a separation cascade (7) into a lightweight portion and a reusable, heavy inert portion (18).
