Snefanger (4) med en holdeboyle (3) som griper rundt en ende (1) av en øvre taksten (2). Den del (7) av holdebøylen som ligger an mot den øvre taksten (1), har en åpning (9). Gjennom denne åpning er det fort en bevegelig del (10) av snefangeren. Den bevegelige del (10) er avboyd ved sin øvre ende som ligger over den øvre taksten (2), slik at en derved tildannet snetilbakeholdelsesdel (11) forløper tilnærmet vinkelrett i forhold til den øvre taksten (2). En midtdel (14) av den bevegelige del (10) forløper rettlinjet og ligger an mot den nedre taksten (5) ved sin ende (13, 15) som vender bort fra snetilbakeholdelsesdelen (11). Snefangeren kan bli tilpasset ulike takstenstykkelser og -former.
