Abstract

Potensen til den bovine somatotroplnprøven blir bestemt basert på nivået av det biologiske aktive bovine somatotropin protein som blir målt. Fremgangsmåten tilvelebrlnger en hurtig og nøyaktig måling av potensen til en bST prøve.A method for determining the potency of bovine somatotropin is described. The level of biologically active bovine somatotropin protein in a bovine somatotropin sample was measured by size exclusion HPLC using as a stationary phase a hydrophilic porous polymer gel having an average particle laminate of about 5 µm to about 15 µm and as a mobile phase a buffered aqueous solution which has a pH of about 8 to about 12 and which is non-denaturing for the bowel somatotropin sample. The potency of the bovine somatotropin sample is determined based on the level of the biologically active bovine somatotropin protein being measured. The method provides a quick and accurate measurement of the potency of a bST sample.
