When a drug solution is to be introduced into a patient, a needle-free syringe is inserted into the oblique bore (221) of the extension portion (22), the valve tube (222) thereof fitting within the fluid passage of the syringe. Manipulating the syringe creates pressure in the injection passage (223) thereby forcing the valve member (23) to its distorted position to allow the injected drug solution to enter the delivery tube (211) of the main body. In the absence of pressure, the silicone valve member (23) assumes its relaxed position, thereby closing the injection passage (223), thereby preventing any air from entering the delivery tube and preventing embolism in the blood vessels of the patient.
