Abstract
A rotary induction generator having a stator with three stator windings (21) defining a three-phase stator and a rotor mounted for rotation therein, and having three rotor windings (22) defining a three-phase rotor and having resistive reactive elements (23, 24, 26) coupled to the secondary windings (22) to increase the generator's efficiency and limit the output power to the generator's capacity over a wide speed range, and a method of electrical power generation with load limiting, with a rotary induction generator wherein the generator can run at different speeds while maintaining the frequency of the line associated with it over a wide range of drive speeds, so that too high output power is limited by circuits using a first circuit of three sets of resistive, inductive and capacitive devices (23 , 24, 26) are connected in series from each leg of a y or delta configuration and where each of the sets is coupled in parallel with a separate set of resistors (27) to complete the circuit and help control the maximum point in kilowatts.
