Abstract
Field of the Invention This invention relates to a process for the preparation of a particulate carrier for an olefin polymerization procatalyst comprising a reacted transition metal compound as a carrier. In the process, a melt-MgCl2-C2HgOH complex containing an average of 3.3 to 5.5 C2H5OH molecules per The MgCl In the hitherto known methods, problems have arisen in the attempt to produce a carrier having an optimal C2H50H content. In the present invention, the problems have been solved by removing so much C 2 H 50 H from the MgCl 2 . MgCl2 molecule. Such a carrier has a suitable C 2 H 5 OH content and has a good morphology, and it causes no problems to spray it.
