Abstract
Fremgangsmåte og apparat for å bestemme elastiske egenskaper i bergformasjoner omfatter en loggeanordning i borehullet, som har to interne akselerometre montert for å måle anordningens akselerasjon. En referanseforskyvning av anordningen bestemmes ved å måle aksele- rasjonen utenfor borehullet mens anord- ningen henger i luft. Utgangen fra akse- lerometrene måles i borehullet. Ved å integrere akselerasjonsutgangen fra akselerometrene to ganger får man for- skyvningen i borehullet. Endringer i forskyvningen av anordningen indikerer forskjellige elastiske egenskaper i formasjonen rundt borehullet. Bruk av to akselerometre for å bestemme forskyvning tillater kontinuerlig logging av Youngs- modul og andre elastiske egenskaper i berget rundt brønnhullet. I en alter- nativ utførelse blir geofoner brukt til å måle anordningens hastighet, og deres utganger blir integrert en gang for å gi forskyvning.
