Abstract
En fremgangsmåte og anordning til nukleær logging, og særlig logging av nøytronporøsitet er beskrevet. I henhold til oppfinnelsen blir et par litiumdetektorer l avstand fra hverandre, fortrinnsvis med Ll6I-krystall eller Li6 dopet glass benyttet til å påvise nøytroner som er sendt ut fra en borehullformasjon som logges. I tillegg benyttes en ny databehandling til å bestemme nøytrontellingen fra det spektrum som utvikles av litiumdetektorene. Denne nye databehandling omfatter tilslutning av en Gaussisk kurve til nøytrontoppen i spekteret. Den Gausslske kurve innbefatter ikke absorpsjonstoppen for hydrogen i spekteret. Arealet under denne Gaussiske kurve representerer nøytrontell- ingen. Det oppnås således en mer nøyaktig nøytron- telling som ikke inneholder gammastråler som skyldes hydrogenabsorpsjonen.
