Abstract

In order to develop, in cement clinker production plants with partial gas extraction, which allow operationally safe production of, in particular, low-alkali cement clinker, a method of reducing the emissions of pollutants such as, in particular, NOx and SO2, without having to treat the extracted partial gas stream in an expensive manner in a dedicated denitrification and/or desulphurisation device, it is proposed according to the invention to recirculate the partial gas stream (27), branched off as part of the rotary kiln exit gas, after cooling (28, 29) and dust removal (31) into the clinker cooler (20) and to use it therein as coolant and subsequently again in the rotary kiln (19) as combustion air, especially as secondary air for the rotary kiln burner (39). <IMAGE>
