Ved en framgangsmåte for bestemmelse av arten av og distribusjonen av vevstyper i levende organismer (1), særlig matinnhold i f.eks. krabber, blir organismen (1) plassert mellom en lyskilde (2) for synlig og infrarødt lys og et kamera (3), tilkoplet' en datamaskin (4). Organismen (1) gjennomlyses av det synlige og infrarøde lyset, og kameraet (3) registrerer denne gjennomlysningen og resultatet analyseres av datamaskinen (4). Kameraet (3) tar et flatebilde av objektet i ett eller flere bølgelengdeområder, og bildet analyseres ved at beskrivende data for spesielle regioner på de registrerte bildene sammenholdes med tilsvarende data for bilder av tilsvarende objekter av kjent kvalitet. The camera (3) captures a flat image of the object in one or more wavelength ranges, and the image is analyzed by comparing descriptive data for particular regions of the recorded images with corresponding data for images of similar objects of known quality. Based on this analysis, the objects can be sorted into predefined quality classes.
