Abstract
For knitting round nets for use as catalysts in ammonia combustion and as recovery nets for platinum metals, wires of platinum with 4 to 12 % of rhodium or 4 to 12 % of palladium and rhodium and wires of palladium with 2 to 15 % of nickel or 2 to 15 % of copper or 2 to 15 % of nickel and copper are used, which must have a diameter from 50 to 120 mu m, a tensile strength from 900 to 1050 N/mm<2> and an elongation limit from 0.5 to 3 %. In addition, a flat-knitting machine having a pitch between 3.63 mm and 1.81 mm is required, the mesh length having to be between 2 and 6 mm.
