En midlertidig sirkulasjons-hjelpepumpe for implantasjon i hjertet til en psient igjennom lårarterien.Pumpen drives ved hjelp av en fleksibel drivaksel som strekker seg igjennom et kateter og er forbundet til en kraftkilde på utsiden av pasientens kropp. Pumpen benytter Moineau-pumpe-prinsippet for å pumpe blod med en hastighet på omtrent tre til fire liter pr. minutt igjennom pasientens sirkulasjons-system.
