Description
BeskyttelseshjelmProtective helmet
The invention relates to a protective helmet with an at least partially transparent protective screen, which is adjustable between a resting position above the protective housing and a working position in front of the wearer's face for protection against radiation, splashes and the like. In many workplaces, e.g. construction sites and shipyards, a protective helmet must be worn at all times for safety reasons. Welding work also requires a welding shield. To relieve the welder during work, it has already been proposed to arrange the welding shield in an adjustable manner on the protective helmet. During breaks in welding, the welding shield is pushed away from the face and held over the protective housing. This device has the advantage that the welder does not have to hold the welding shield during welding. As the protective housing is worn at all times, the welding shield is also available at all times.
Until now, normal welding shields have been fitted to the protective helmets. These are angular and spring far forward when they are in a resting position above the protective housing. Especially in cramped workplaces, there is a danger that the welder will become stuck with the shield in protruding objects, as it is not possible for the welder to calculate the position of the deflected shield in relation to the surroundings. When working in the open, the shield also forms a significant windbreak, which forces the welder to fasten the protective housing very tightly on the head. It will therefore seem inconvenient and annoying to wear the protective home during work.
The present invention aims to provide a protective helmet with a protective shield, which is comfortable to wear and does not cause disturbing episodes during work. A protective screen according to the invention has the shape of a shell, the dimensions of which are adapted to the external dimensions of the protective housing in such a way that the shell-shaped protective screen in its rest position follows the outer surface of the protective housing.
The protective shield is adapted to the shape of the helmet and thus has no protruding parts, which could become caught in objects in the workplace's surroundings.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the shell-shaped protective shield rests in its resting position after the front part of the protective helmet. The protective screen is then particularly easily accessible to the wearer, when he wants to swing the screen down into the working position.
As the protective housing is also appropriately only lined with a narrow brim to avoid getting stuck, the brim cannot act as a sun screen. According to the invention, it is therefore proposed that the protective screen be provided with a sun screen, which in the protective screen's rest position extends over the front edge of the protective housing. It is therefore advantageous that the sun screen consists of flexible material, e.g. leather. The material's unforgivingness will make it considerably more difficult for the sun screen to get stuck in protruding objects.
In another embodiment of the invention, the sun screen is removably attached to the protective screen. The attachment is preferably such that the sunshade detaches from the protective screen by itself, should it become caught in an object.
The invention will be described in more detail in the following with reference to the drawing, where
fig. 1 shows a protective helmet with a protective shield in the standby position, worn by a person. The details inside the helmet and protective shield are indicated with thinner lines,

fig. 3 is a side view of the protective housing with the protective screen in working position.
Holderne 5 er f.eks. med en svalehaleforbindelse avtagbart festet til ut-siden av beskyttelseshjelmen i tinningområdet., A protective helmet 1 is equipped with a strap device 2, which can be adapted in a known manner to the wearer's head shape by means of an adjustment screw, so that the helmet sits securely on the head. The protective housing is also equipped with removable ear flaps, which are designed as ear protectors. Holders 5 for a protective screen 6 are arranged on both sides of the helmet (only one holder 5 is shown). The protective screen is connected to the holders 5 via an arm system 7 which is arranged inside the protective helmet. This arm system 7 is stored both in bearings 8,8' for the holders and in bearings 9 for the protective screen. The holders 5 are e.g. with a dovetail connection removably attached to the outside of the protective helmet in the temple area.,
The arm system 7 for each holder 5 comprises a thread boyle 10, which is stored in the bearings 8 and 9, and a thread boyle 12, which with an eyelet 11 is displaceable along the thread boyle 10 and with one end is stored in the holder's storage 8'. A pressure spring 13 seeks at all times to displace the eye 11 in the direction of the storage 9. In the standby position shown, the spring thus seeks to lift the protective screen, which, however, due to its weight resists such a movement of the seat, which is also reinforced by the fixed connection between the rear edge of the protective screen 14 .and the protective helmet 1.
The protective shield 6 has the shape of a shell, which in rest position with its rear part 15 (fig. 2) essentially semi-cylindrical and with rear part 16 essentially spherical follows the outside of the protective helmet.
In the rest position, the protective screen is in contact with the protective helmet 1 with its rear edge 14. The front edge of the ball-shaped part 16 in the forehead area is adapted to the protective helmet's brim 17. The side edges 18 of the cylindrical part 16 are slightly inwardly curved in the brim area and are pinched over in the protective screen's rest position the brim 17, so that the screen is retained on the helmet. The protective screen is made of stiff, light, resistant and preferably moldable material, e.g. polyethylene. Part of the protective screen is made transparent by means of a protective glass 22 which can optionally be colored. In and of itself, the entire protective screen can also be made of transparent material, but this is not economically justifiable with the materials available today.
As the protective helmet only has a very narrow brim 17, no glare protection against sunlight from above is achieved. The protective screen is therefore provided with a sun screen 19, which is made of flexible material, e.g. leather. The sun screen 19 can be easily removed from the protective screen using push buttons 20, when it is not needed. This attachment method also enables automatic release of the sunshade 19 from the protective screen, if the sunshade should become stuck on an object that projects very far forward in the workplace. When the protective screen is in the working position (fig. 3), the sun screen 19 will act as neck protection.
During short work breaks, the worker will usually just slide the protective screen from the working position to the standby position to get a better view. During longer work breaks, however, he will push the protective screen into rest position. It then does not get in the way and does not hinder the wearer's freedom of movement, as the protective screen, thanks to its shell-shaped design, cannot become stuck on protruding objects. When working in the open, the shape of the protective screen according to the invention also ensures that the enemy cannot get hold of the screen.
Armsystemets 7 stilling er antydet både i beskyttelsesskjermens hvilestilling (fig. 2) og arbeidsstilling (fig. 3). The position of the arm system 7 is indicated both in the protective screen's resting position (fig. 2) and working position (fig. 3). While the protective screen in the rest position is pressed against the protective helmet as a result of the action of the compression spring 13, the protective screen's further swing towards the face in the working position will be prevented by a stop 21 on the holder 5.
