Abstract

Sensor data is received from a first motion sensor which is provided at a blowout preventer, below the lower flex joint of the wellhead, and a second motion sensor which is provided at a riser, above a lower flex joint of the wellhead. A time series of values related to the inclination of the blowout preventer, ?BOP(t), is determined from the data received from the first motion sensor, and a time series of values related to an inclination of the riser, ?Riser(t), is determined from the data received from the second motion sensor. A value related to wellhead stiffness, KWH, is determined, and a time series of values related to a wellhead bending moment, MWH(t), is calculated from the value related to the blowout preventer inclination, and the value related to the stiffness of the wellhead.Sensor data is received from a first motion sensor which is provided at a blowout preventer, below the lower flex joint of the wellhead, and a second motion sensor which is provided at a riser, above a lower flex joint of the wellhead.
