Description
The present invention relates to a device at the outlet in a wash basin according to the introductory part of patent claim 1.
Bakgrunn Background
Traditional sinks are provided with an outlet with a strainer with a circular circumference and provided with a handle in the center of the strainer to be able to take it out of the basin for cleaning and/or removal of food residues and the like that have accumulated in the strainer. The strainer is usually combined with a plug to close the outlet in the sink. In the closed position, the strainer rests against the outlet opening of the sink. To empty the liquid content in the basin, the user grasps the handle in the center of the strainer and lifts it slightly out of the outlet opening so that the strainer is in an open position in the outlet opening. The strainer can be lifted completely out of the outlet opening to, as mentioned, remove food residues from the strainer and possibly the basin and carry out cleaning of the same. A disadvantage of this construction is that the user has to grasp the strainer and touch food residues and the like that are collected at the bottom of the strainer.
Remotely operated outlets for, among other things, sinks are known from the prior art. An example is CA patent publication 2,797,522 which describes a remote control unit for an outlet fitting. The starting point for the invention described there is that known solutions, where the strainer is opened by pressing a button and closed by releasing the pressing force on the button, do not offer a safe closure of the outlet. The purpose of the Canadian application subject is to provide a remote control unit that offers easier maintenance of the same. In these known outlet devices, the strainer is firmly connected to the remote control mechanism.
An example of integrated means for cleaning basins is described in WO 94/04058, which shows a removable strainer of a traditional type for a sink where the underside is provided with brushes for cleaning the basin.
DE 197 06 795 Cl describes a device at an outlet in a wash basin or the like. The device has a bottom, walls and a valve arranged in an outlet formed in the bottom of the basin. An operating device is arranged outside the basin and is connected to the valve for opening the same. The outlet features a strainer provided with outlets or openings to drain water but retain larger viscous or solid material when the valve is open. The strainer is further shaped with substantially straight side edges seen substantially perpendicular to the bottom plane of the basin and is arranged free from the basin and separate from the valve member and is arranged in an outlet in the bottom of the basin. The valve comprises a stopper arranged below the strainer and is designed with a circumference that is greater than or equal to the outlet opening at the bottom of the basin and is arranged so that in the closed position it rests tightly against a contact surface or seat at the bottom of the basin, whereby the operating member with the aid of a power transmitting member is designed to lift the valve from a closed position to an open position. However, the operating device is not designed to lift the valve further, and the user must therefore dip his hand into the contaminated water to grasp the strainer and take it out of the basin.
For example DE 296 03 146 Ul and EP 0 726 366 Al show a similar construction but where an operating device is arranged on the outside of the basin for opening the valve. Here too, the operating device is not designed to lift the valve further and push the strainer out of its rest position.
Other examples of related prior art in this area are DE 20 2012 011 181 Ul, EP 2 369 071 Al and EP 1 961 874 A2 for outlet, operating device with cable and return spring, respectively, same use of electric actuator.
One purpose of the invention is to provide a device at an outlet in a washing basin where the strainer can be released from the basin without grasping the strainer. Another purpose of the invention is to provide a device at an outlet in a sink that offers the possibility of cleaning the sink without the need for additional tools.
Oppfinnelsen The invention
These purposes are achieved with a device at an outlet in a wash basin according to patent claim 1. Further advantageous features appear from the independent patent claims.
The invention relates to a device at the outlet in a sink or equivalent, in particular a sink, which has a bottom, walls and a valve arranged in an outlet formed in the bottom of the sink and an operating device located in a position outside the sink connected to the valve for opening the valve . The outlet has a strainer provided with outlets or openings for draining water but retaining larger viscous or solid material when the valve is open, the strainer being formed with substantially straight side edges viewed substantially perpendicular to the bottom plane of the basin and arranged freestanding from the basin and separated from the valve body and arranged in an outlet at the bottom of the sink. The valve comprises a plug arranged below the strainer and designed with a circumference greater than or equal to the outlet opening at the bottom of the basin and arranged so that in the closed position it rests tightly against a contact surface or seat at the bottom of the basin. The operating member is, with the help of a power-transmitting member, designed to lift the valve from a closed position to an open position. According to the invention, the valve is arranged to be lifted further from its open position to a position where the upper side of the plug will protrude higher than the underside of the strainer when the strainer is in a lower rest position in the outlet, so that at least one side edge of the strainer will protrude from its resting position in the outlet.
The strainer in the sink is designed separately from the sink to be able to be released from it and designed separately from a shut-off valve in the sink. Furthermore, the valve is provided with a remote control device arranged in the vicinity of the basin and connected preferably mechanically with a power transmitting device at the bottom of the basin for regulation of valve position. In this way, the valve can be opened from a closed position to an open position for emptying liquid from the basin and further to a lifting position where the valve contacts the underside of the strainer and pushes it out of its resting position at the bottom of the basin. The strainer is further shaped with substantially straight side edges seen substantially perpendicular to the bottom plane of the basin when the strainer rests in the same, particularly with a rectangular shape. The strainer is particularly provided with a rim of a softer material, for example plastic material, to offer the possibility of cleaning the basin and adjacent areas with the strainer itself.
An advantage of the present construction is that the user does not have to reach into food residues and the like which are located at the bottom of the strainer in order to lift the strainer out of the basin. Also, the design of the strainer offers a scraping tool to clean the bottom of the sink.
Eksempler Examples
Oppfinnelsen er i det etterfølgende beskrevet i nærmere detalj med et eksempel på en utførelsesform og med henvisning til figurer, der The invention is subsequently described in more detail with an example of an embodiment and with reference to figures, where

Figur 2 viser silen 12 sett i perspektiv ovenfra. Figure 1 shows a section through a sink with a device at an outlet according to the invention with a remote-operated valve and a strainer, Figure 2 shows the strainer and parts of the outlet and the valve at the bottom of a sink seen in perspective, Figure 3a-d shows a principle sectional sketch corresponding to the one in figure 1 but only with the details around the valve, strainer and outlet in different positions of use. Figure 4 shows an enlarged partial section through the outlet of the basin to illustrate an embodiment of the outlet valve in more detail. Figures 5a and 5b show an example of an embodiment of the operating device 10 with the valve design illustrated in Figure 4. Figure 1 shows a schematic cross-section through a sink 1 in a kitchen bench (not shown). The basin comprises walls 2 and a bottom 3 provided with an outlet 4 for emptying washing water. A valve is provided at the bottom which comprises a plug 6 with a circumference greater than or equal to the opening 4 and designed to lie tightly but releasably against a contact surface 5 designed as part of the bottom of the basin. The plug 6 is connected to a rod 7 projecting downwards through the opening 4 in the basin and supported by support means (not shown) so that the plug 6 and the valve rod 7 can be moved mainly vertically to bring the valve from a closed position to an open position. A power transmitting member 8 is arranged at the lower end of the rod 7 and has a lifting pin 16 for contacting the end of the rod 7 and pushing the plug upwards. The lifting pin 16 is pivotably mounted on a shaft 8a and is connected to an operating device 10 via an intermediate cable 9. Figure 2 shows the strainer 12 seen in perspective from above. In this embodiment, the strainer has a rectangular circumference with slit-shaped outlets 13 to retain solid or highly viscous material. The sieve is arranged in a corresponding rectangular outlet 14 in the bottom 3 of the basin 1. Figure 2 shows parts of the contact surface 5 for the plug 6 and the valve stem 7 as well as the outlet 4 in the bottom of the basin. Figure 2 also shows the strainer in a released position where the valve 6, 7 has pushed the strainer out of its rest position in the outlet 14 in the direction of arrow P and ready to be grasped with the hands of a user. Figures 3a-3d show a very schematic diagram of the process for opening the valve and releasing the strainer. Figure 3a shows the device in a closed position where the plug 6 rests tightly against the contact surface 5 formed at the bottom of the outlet 14 in the bottom 3 of the basin. Figure 3b shows the valve 6, 7 in an open position where the lifting pin 16 is in contact with the valve stem 7 and has pushed the plug 6 up from the closed position from the operating device (not shown). The lifting pin 16 is rotatably mounted on a shaft 8a.
In Figure 3c, the valve 6, 7 is pushed even higher up to contact the underside of the strainer 12 and has pushed this upwards in the direction of arrow P. In the illustrated embodiment, the contact point in the strainer against the stopper is arranged acentrically, so that only one end of the strainer 12 has been lifted out of the outlet 14 in the bottom 3 of the basin. This acentric design makes it easier to grip the strainer 12 from above. Figure 3d shows the same situation as in Figure 3c, but where the strainer 12 is grasped by the hand 15 of a person. As you can see here, the user can easily grasp the strainer without touching any leftover food that may be at the bottom of the strainer. Figure 4 shows the plug 6 in contact with the underside of the strainer 12 lifted out from the outlet 14 in the basin in the direction of arrow H. The valve pin 7 is provided with external threads 21 to attach the plug to the rest of the valve body (not shown). Double arrow H indicates the valve's direction of movement. The lifting pin 16 projects radially from the shaft 8a and contacts the underside of the valve stem 7. The shaft 8a is rotatably arranged around the power transmitting member 8 at the lower end of the outlet 4 in the sump. At the end of the shaft 8a, a swing arm 17 is attached, the outer end of which has a wire attachment 19 for a wire 18. The wire is further connected to the trigger 10 (not shown) via a wire guide 20.
The figure also shows the outlet pipe 4a which continues out from the outlet 4 in the basin.
Figures 5a and 5b show very schematically an example of an operating device 10 for use with the valve design in Figure 4. The operating device 10 here comprises a cover/control button 22 which functions as a push button for the user. At one end of the cover 22, a shaft 23 provided with a spring 24 is arranged. The operating device further comprises an intermediate piece 25 for mounting the operating button 22 described above and the wire with accessories as described below. The (lower") end 25 of the intermediate piece is provided with external threads. The upper end of the wire 18 is engaged in a guide tube 26 and a nut 27 with internal threads to be screwed to the end part 25 of the intermediate piece 25 together with the operating button 22 and fixed in the surface 11 of a kitchen bench next to the sink (see figure 1) .
The example described above shows a mechanical operation of the valve. However, an electromechanical operation of the valve is also conceivable where an actuator is arranged in the form of an electromechanical device at the valve under the basin which is regulated with control signals from a piezoelectric push button panel at the upper edge of the basin.
