Description

The present invention relates to a holding device for releasably securing a mobile phone or the like to a substrate, including two parts, a first part for attachment to a substrate and a second part for attachment to a mobile phone or the like.

In Norway and many other countries in Europe, as well as elsewhere in the world, it is mandatory for traffic safety reasons to have the mobile phone fixed in the car. The telephone must be mounted as close to the steering wheel as possible and as high up on the dashboard as possible. The phone must also have a hands-free system connected, so that the driver does not have to lift the phone to his ear to make a call.

Several different solutions are known for retaining mobile phones and the like in vehicles. Examples of such known devices are shown and described in US patent 6,149,116 and in a catalog from the company Clas Ohlson - "Mobile phone accessories" from 2000. A disadvantage of these known solutions is that they cannot withstand the great stresses that the holding device is exposed to, e.g. e.g. in case of collision. If the mobile phone is attached to the dashboard of a car, the phone could come loose and injure the people sitting in the car. Another disadvantage is that each type of mobile phone has a distinctive appearance and shape, and a particular type of phone will therefore not fit in another type of phone's holder or "crib". If you e.g. If you lend the car to a person who has a different phone type than you, that person cannot count on being able to use their own phone in the car. If you e.g. rent a car, you cannot count on your own mobile phone to fit in the car's holding device, if one is present in the car.

From the applicant's own Norwegian patent no. 303 973, a device for adjustable mounting of mobile phones or the like is known. This device consists of a plate-like foundation which can be attached to the dashboard of a car, preferably by means of gluing. An adjustable arm is attached to this foundation plate and on the other end of the arm there is a plate holder for attaching the mobile phone. Since each mobile phone has different dimensions and designs, the mobile phone had to be placed in a cradle or bracket specially designed for each mobile phone, which was then attached to the plate-shaped holder, e.g. by means of gluing or screws. These known cribs or brackets are affected by the same disadvantages as described above.

One purpose of the present invention is therefore to provide a holding device for mobile phones and the like, for example for holding mobile phones in a car, which can withstand great stress, e.g. in a car collision.

Another purpose of the invention is to provide or standardize a holder/locking system for mobile phones and the like, for example retaining mobile phones in a car or other vehicle.

Another purpose of the present invention is to provide a holding device for mobile phones and the like which can be used together with the adjustable mounting device according to the applicant's own Norwegian patent no. 303 973.

This and other purposes are achieved with a holding device for releasably holding a mobile phone or the like to a substrate, including two parts, a first part for attachment to a substrate and a second part for attachment to a mobile phone or the like, which first part includes a general plate-shaped body adapted to be fixed on a surface, which plate-shaped body is provided with guides consisting of walls or knobs which form an approximate V-shape or U-shape, which projections form an angle of approximately 90° with the guides, and which other part is in the form of a plate-shaped body with one or more parts with reduced thickness, which other part is arranged for attachment to the mobile phone or the like, as the parts with reduced thickness will form one or more gaps between the mobile phone or the like and the parts with reduced thickness, which holding device is characterized by the fact that the second part includes an approximately central one placed recess and that the first part includes a complementary designed locking cam for engagement with the recess.

The first part preferably includes a tongue, on which the locking cam is placed, which tongue is arranged to release the engagement between the locking cam on the first part and the recess on the second part.

The tongue on the first part is preferably provided with one or more arms, which arms are provided at their ends with openings for releasably retaining cables and the like.

The arms preferably have a length such that the ends of the arms protrude beyond the rest of the first part.

Further features and purposes of the holding device according to the present invention will be apparent from the subsequent detailed description of examples of execution of the holding device, with reference to the accompanying drawings, where: Figure 1 shows a perspective sketch of a first part of a holding device according to the present invention seen from the front. Figure 2 shows a perspective sketch of the first part of the holding device shown in Figure 1, seen from behind. Figures 3-5 show a second part of the holding device seen respectively from the front, from the back and from the side. Figure 6 shows a mounting device according to Norwegian patent no. 303 973.

The present invention relates to a holding device for releasably holding a mobile phone or the like on a surface, e.g. the dashboard of a car. The holding device consists of two parts, a first part 1 for attachment to a substrate, and a second part 2 for attachment to a mobile phone or the like.

Figures 1 and 2 show a first part 1 of a holding device according to the present invention. This first part 1 is intended to be attached to a substrate, e.g. a dashboard in a car or a platform holds the mounting device shown in Norwegian patent 303 973. Figure 1 shows the first part 1 seen from the front, while figure 2 shows the first part seen from the back. It is the back of the first part 1 that will rest against a base when the device is mounted.

This first part 1 will be explained in more detail after the second part 2 has been described.

Figures 3 to 5 show a second part of the holding device seen respectively from the front, from the back and from the side. This second part 2 consists of a generally plate-shaped body, in the embodiment shown in the form of a rectangle with rounded end edges. Along all or parts of each of the long sides of this second part 2, there is a part 3, hereinafter referred to as flanges, with less material thickness than the rest of the second part 2. The back of the second part 2 exhibits an approximately flat surface. This is shown in more detail in Figure 5, which shows the second part 2 seen from an end edge. Approximately in the center of the second part 2, there is a recess 4, which in the embodiment shown has an approximately square shape. The two side edges of the recess 4, which are parallel to the short sides of the other part 2, are provided with chamfers 5 in the embodiment shown.

When the second part 2 is to be attached to an object, e.g. a mobile phone, the other part is attached to the object so that the front side shown in fig. 3, is glued or otherwise attached to the object. This second part 2 will then be left in a position so that the central part of the front will rest against the object, while it will form a gap with the object surface and each of the flanges 3. The purpose of this will be explained in more detail later.

The first part 1, as shown in Figures 1 and 2, consists of a general plate-shaped body in which a flexible tongue 6 with a locking cam 7 is formed. In the embodiment shown, the locking cam 7 is shown with a chamfered shape. On each side of the tongue 6 there are guides 8 with protrusions 9. The guides 8 consist of walls or knobs which are approximately perpendicular to the plane of the first part 2. The guides 8 together form an approximate U-shape, but can in other embodiments form an approximate V-shape. The projections 9 on the guides 8 form an angle of approximately 90° with the guides 8. The projections 9 can be continuous or in the form of knobs. In the embodiment shown, the width of the projections 9 is approximately equal to the width of the flanges 3 (Fig. 3).

When e.g. a mobile phone, where the second part 2 is attached to the back, e.g. by means of gluing, is to be placed on the first part 1, the second part 2 is pushed in between the guides 8 on the first part, and these guides will then guide the second part 2 until the locking cam 7 engages with the recess 4 on the second part 2, and the lower parts of the guides 8 will prevent further insertion of the second part 2.

When e.g. the mobile phone is to be detached from the first part 1, the tongue 6 is pressed down, i.e. in a direction approximately perpendicular to the paper plane in fig. 1, so that the locking knob 7 exits the engagement with the recess 4, and the second part 2 together with the mobile phone can be pulled out of the first part 1.

In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the device according to the invention, as shown in fig. 1 and 2, the tongue 6 is provided with one or two arms 10, where at each end of the arm 10 is placed a hole 11, with an open part. The purpose of these arms 10 and the holes 11 is that any cables that are connected e.g. a mobile phone with other equipment can be held in the holes 11. Furthermore, the purpose of the arms 10 is to be able to release and then pull out the phone. The arms 10 protrude slightly beyond the width of the phone and can be reached with a finger on either side of it.

The device described above and shown in the accompanying drawings is not limited to securing mobile phones to the dashboard of a vehicle. The anchoring can also be used for releasably securing any object to a substrate, e.g. electronic equipment in boats, medical equipment in hospitals and the like.

Claims (4)

1. Holding device for releasably securing a mobile phone or the like to a substrate, comprising two parts, a first part (1) for attachment to a substrate and a second part (2) for attachment to a mobile phone or the like, which first part (1) includes a general plate-shaped body adapted to be fixed on a base, which plate-shaped body is provided with guides (8) consisting of walls or knobs which form an approximate V-shape or U-shape, which projections (9) form an angle of approximately 90° with the feelers (8), and which second part (2) is in the form of a plate-shaped body with one or more parts (3) of reduced thickness, which second part is arranged for attachment to the mobile phone or the like, the parts (3) with reduced wall thickness will form one or more gaps between the mobile phone or similar and the parts (3) with reduced wall thickness. characterized in that the second part (2) includes an approximately centrally placed recess (4) and that the first part (1) includes a complementary designed locking cam (7) for engagement with the recess (4). 2. Holding device according to claim 1, characterized in that the first part (1) includes a tongue (6), on which the locking cam (7) is arranged, which tongue is arranged to release the engagement between the locking cam (7) on the first part (1) and the recess (4) on the other part (2). 3. Holding device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the tongue (6) on the first part (1) is provided with one or more arms (10), which arms (10) are provided at their ends with openings ( 11) for releasable retention of cables and the like. 4. Holding device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the arms (10) have a length such that the ends of the arms (10) protrude beyond the rest of the first part (1).
