Description
The concept applies to shoes, in particular shoes for walks in woods and fields and with a sole structure that includes an outer sole with a grip pattern, an inner sole for shock absorption and heat insulation, and possibly a removable insole on top of the inner sole. The concept will hereinafter be called the invention and applies to improvements of known corresponding shoes and soles, as the term shoes here also includes boots.
There is a large number of shoe types on the market today that are adapted to different uses and to a greater or lesser extent seek to correct improper foot use. The technique has gone the furthest when it comes to running shoes, while walking shoes, hiking shoes and boots still have shortcomings in terms of comfort and sufficient support for the foot, as well as preventing injuries during use. The more or less unfortunate ways of using the foot can be divided into four classes, namely supination (toe inward rotation, i.e. turning the front part of the foot inwards/upwards so that the sole of the foot tends to turn inwards), pronation (toe overturning, i.e. the foot is turned outwards/upwards so that the front part of the sole of the foot turns outwards), inversion (heel inversion) and inversion (heel overturning). The movement of the heel and forefoot can take place about different axes, as the foot is considered to have four axes of rotation or movement. This means that a person such as tend to turn the heel inwards either can pronate, supinate or be neutral in the movement of the forefoot. Similarly, a person who has neutral heel movement can either pronate or supinate with the forefoot. This naturally requires individual correction in both the heel and toe part of a shoe if the incorrect foot movement is to be avoided.
An extensive foot/shoe examination carried out by the defense has shown that about 3/4 of the subjects had a tendency to pronate, about 10% had supination, and about 15% had neutral foot movement. Abnormal or incorrect foot movements can, among other things, lead to problems in the knee joints, heel tendons, shin bones and in the back, and it is thus of the greatest importance that the foot movement can be corrected also in walking and leisure shoes as well as mountain and hiking boots, especially when a person who wears such shoes often carries a rucksack at the same time of perhaps 15 - 25 kg, and preferably over many days at a stretch (including during mountain hiking with mountain dust). At present, there do not appear to be good enough hiking boots on the market that can correct all of the foot anomalies mentioned above, even though there is a wide range of models that take care of some of these to a greater or lesser extent.
The purpose of this invention is to improve shoes and boots of the type mentioned at the outset, but where the shortcomings of correcting incorrect foot movements are sought to be rectified. The features that take care of this will appear from the patent claims that have been set up according to the description that now follows.
As a result of the invention, shoe improvements have now been made available which fulfill this, without the shoe or boot thereby becoming too complicated or expensive. The shoe is laterally stable and will neither twist outwards nor inwards, as a stabilization pad has been inserted inside the outer sole. The cushion corrects inversion, eversion and pronation. In addition, the sole is also very stable laterally, since its outer grip pattern is a few millimeters higher than on the inner side, over the entire length of the sole. The outer sole has a rough grip pattern with at least one bending groove near the big toe area, and there the outer sole is also bent slightly upwards so that you get an anatomically correct shoe function that allows the foot to bend naturally. The grip pattern is also designed so that soil etc. is not collected so easily, and an edge part at the back of the heel is designed to give a relatively soft step down, even if the heel part is otherwise laterally stable and does not tend to roll. The sole is also so stiff that it is well balanced, and in addition to the advantage of shock absorption, the stiffness is kept so moderate that the user does not risk muscle or tendon damage at the front of the calf. The insole can be removed and has a rough fabric pattern, which means that it is held firmly in place and also prevents the foot from sliding inside the shoe. By having a loose insole, you can also more precisely correct any remaining foot defects by inserting loose wedges under the forefoot and/or shock-absorbing heel wedge inserts made of a material with a well-balanced density. The height of the wedges can be adjusted by the fact that there are perforations along the edge that allow you to tear off the thickest part and get the desired correction by individual adjustment.
3 viser tilsvarende fig. The detailed description that now follows applies to preferred embodiments, and reference is made to the drawings, where fig. 1 shows the sole of a shoe in accordance with the invention and seen from the right side in relation to a user, fig. 2 shows the sole from above without an insole, but so that one can see how the built-in stabilization pad extends, fig. 3 shows the corresponding fig. 1 the entire sole, now from the left side, fig. 4 shows the underside of the sole shown in fig. 1 - 3, and fig. 5 - 7 show a floor plan of wedge inserts for the forefoot and heel respectively, for further correction of a foot's movement.
From fig. 1-4 shows that a shoe or boot, especially for hiking, has a sole 1 with an outer sole 2 with grip pattern 3, and a shock-absorbing and heat-insulating inner sole 4. The shoe can also have a loose insole (not shown in the drawings) placed on the insole. The outer sole 2 is preferably made of rubber and has an effective grip pattern 3 that does not collect soil and clay. The inner sole 4 is preferably made of polyurethane to provide good insulation properties and suitable hardness, so that this sole also has shock absorption properties. On the underside of the inner sole 4, at least one stabilization pad 5 has been inserted which is built into the outer sole 2 to correct pronation, inversion and eversion. The pad 5 is built so that it extends along the inside 6 of the outer sole 2, i.e. between this and the inner sole 4, mainly to cover the entire width of the heel part 7 of the sole, with the exception of a smaller circular segment 8 with the outer part 9 on the heel. The segment 8 is arranged to meet a substructure only when the shoe is used. The pad continues forwards over the arch part 10 of the outer sole 2 and up to a first end point 11 in this part, at the toe part 18 of the outer sole 2 and so that it decreases laterally in relation to the remaining part of the sole 13, along a boundary line 14 that extends from the end point 11 and to a second end point 15 just in front of the heel part 7. The line 14 extends in an S-shape between these two end points 11, 15 and with the middle part of the line extending the middle line of the sole. Extra stabilization pads 5 can be used if this is necessary. These pads are in fig. 2 indicated by dashed lines and is inserted in front or behind a transverse bending groove 16 in the grip pattern 3 on the underside of the outer sole 2. The thickness of the pads 5 can vary over their length and width and also as a result of the material properties available. If some type of plastic is used as cushion material, the thickness of the cushion can preferably vary between 0.5 and 5 mm. The outer sole 2 is made completely stable by its outer grip pattern lugs projecting about 2 mm more than the inner lugs over the entire circumference, giving the outer sole 2 a concave shape in the transverse direction.
It appears more clearly from fig. 4 that the natural bending of the outer sole 2 with the foot is facilitated by means of several bending grooves 16 which extend curved across the forefoot part and form shorter curved parts 17 in the direction towards the toe part 18. The toe part 18 also has an upward bend of between 10 and 20 mm, which has a beneficial effect on the user's toe joint, in addition to making the shoe or boot easier to walk in.
The loose insole can be combined with a front wedge insert 19 and/or a heel insert 20, these inserts being shown in fig. 5 - 7 and is made of shock-absorbing material whose density is well balanced to withstand pressure and is intended for more precise correction of any remaining unfavorable foot movement tendencies. Since the wedge inserts 19, 20 have perforations 21 - 23 along their thicker edge, the main thickness can be set for further correction by tearing off the thickest part along the perforation.
In conclusion, it can be added that a hiking shoe or mountain boot having a sole in accordance with the invention appears to be the first on the market by being built up from the start using the latest orthopedic technology, leading to a shoe or boot that both is light and stable, comfortable and provides a natural gait. Furthermore, it is built so that it can essentially avoid incorrect foot movements, and it has detailed solutions and material choices to be able to withstand the effects of water, cold and difficult terrain.
