Abstract

Anoden (1) er todelt (6, 7), hvorved anodemantel-konstruksjonen utgjøres av to parallelle med og nær inntil hverandre anordnete manteldeler (8, 9), idet det mellom manteldelene er anordnet et avtagbart deksel eller overbygning (11).A Søderberg-type electrolytic cell for the production of aluminum comprises a cathode (1) housing an electrolysis bath, an anode-sheathed anode sheath structure enclosing a carbon anode (1) extending partially into the electrolytic bath, electric direct current supply and discharge devices from the cell, as well as means for adding additive materials, e.g. alumina for the electrolytic bath in the cell. The anode (1) is bifurcated (6, 7), whereby the anode mantle structure is formed by two parallel portions (8, 9) arranged parallel to and adjacent to each other, a removable cover or superstructure (11) being arranged between the casing portions.
