Description
A PACKAGE ARRANGEMENT FOR AT LEAST TWO BOTTLES
Introduction
The present invention relates to a package arrangement for at least two bottles. The package arrangement has the function of holding the bottles together and enabling handling of the package arrangement.
Prior art
Prior art package arrangements for holding bottles are made of a body comprising compartments for the bottles. The package arrangements are for example made of a plastic material that is formed to its desired shape. The package arrangements are normally adapted to be stacked and comprising handles for enabling the arrangement to be lifted and displaced.
A problem with prior art package arrangements is that the package arrangements require the same space both when holding the bottles and without the bottles, which effects the overall transportation cost of the package arrangements.
Summary of the invention
The invention has for its object to remedy or to reduce at least one of the drawbacks of the prior art, or at least provide a useful alternative to prior art. This object is achieved through features, which are specified in the description below and in the claims that follow. In particular, an object of the invention is to provide an improved package arrangement for two or more bottles, which requires less space when not holding the bottles compared when holding the bottles.
This object is provided by means of a package arrangement for at least two bottles. The arrangement comprises
- a first plate member comprising a first body and a second plate member comprising a second body,
- for the respective bottle, a first type support member at the first plate member, which first type support member is adapted to hold an end part of the respective bottle fixed at the first plate member and carry the weight of the respective bottle,
- for the respective bottle, a second type support member at the second plate member, which sec ond type support member is adapted to hold an envelope surface at an upper part of the respective bottle fixed at the second plate member, and
- a holding arrangement comprising a string member connected to the first plate member and extending through the second plate member.
By means of the first plate member, the second plate member, the first type support members, the second type support members and the holding arrangement in the form of a string member, enables the package arrangement to assume a state when not holding the bottles that is smaller than the extent when holding the bottles.
The package arrangement allows a larger number of package arrangements to be stored and transported when not holding bottles compared with prior art package arrangements. Accordingly, the package arrangement of the invention reduces the storage and transportation cost of the package arrangement.
The first type support member has the function of both holding the respective bottle in a stable position at the first plate member and supporting the weight of the respective bottle. The second type support member has the function of holding the respective bottle in a stable position at the second plate member.
The term first plate member and the second plate member shall be understood as a flat element extending along a respective plane. The first plate member comprises the first body and the second plate member comprising the second body. The first body and the second body are configured to support or form the respective first type support member and the second type support member.
It shall be understood that the first body and the second body may be of various types, such a solid slab, a truss structure, a netting structure, a hollow shell structure, and etcetera. It shall further be understood that the first body and the second body may be of materials providing the function of to support or form the respective first type support member and the second type support member. The material of the first body and the second body is for example a polymeric material, wood, cardboard, and etcetera. The first body and the second body are for example made of a polymeric material, such as injection molded into its desired shape.
The holding arrangement provides a connection between the first plate member and the second plate member. The holding arrangement further enables handling of the package arrangement, such as lifting, carrying and stacking the package arrangement.
By means of the string member the package arrangement is arranged between an extended state and a compact state. In the extended state the first plate member and the second plate member are separated from each other while the first type support members and second type support members act of the respective on the respective parts of the bottles. In the compact state, the first plate member and the second plate member are brought together. The package arrangement is in the extended state when holding the bottles and in the compact state when lacking bottles to hold.
The string member is a long flexible structure, such as a string or a wire. The string member is for example made from fibers twisted together into a single strand, or from multiple such strands which are in turn twisted together.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the first type support members are arranged distributed along the extension of the first plate member, and the second type support members are arranged distributed correspondingly as the first type support members along the extension of the second plate member.
By distributing the first type support members and the second type support members along the extension of the respective plate member, the package arrangement can be scaled in size for the desired number of bottles to be held.
The term “extension of the first plate member” relates to the extension in the plane in which the first plate member extends. The term “extension of the second plate member” is to be interpreted correspondingly.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the respective first type support member comprises a base portion adapted to support the weight of the respective bottle at its end part and an enclosing portion adapted to support an envelope surface of the respective bottle at its end part.
The base portion forms a base that supports at least a part of an end surface of the respective bottle. The base portion may be shaped in conformity with the shape of at least a part of the surface of the end part of the respective bottle. The base portion has the function of supporting the weight of the respective bottle.
The enclosing portion at least partly encloses the envelope surface at the end part of the respective bottle. Preferably, the enclosing portion extends around the full circumference at the end part of the respective bottle. The enclosing portion is shaped in conformity to the envelope surface at the end part of the respective bottle. The enclosing portion has the function of maintaining the position of the end part of the respective bottle at the first plate member.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the respective second type support member comprises a further enclosing portion adapted to support the envelope surface of the respective bottle at its upper part.
The further enclosing portion at least partly encloses the envelope surface at the upper part of the respective bottle. Preferably, the further enclosing portion extends around the full circumference at the upper part of the respective bottle. The further enclosing portion is shaped in conformity to the envelope surface at the upper part of the respective bottle. The further enclosing portion has the function of maintaining the position of the upper part of the respective bottle at the second plate member.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the respective first type support member is formed as an indentation in the first body.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the respective second type support member is formed as a through opening in the second body.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the first body holds the respective first type support members, and wherein the second body holds the respective second type support members.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the string member is arranged extending from a first connection at the first plate member, to a first opening in the second plate member, to a second opening in the second plate member, and to a second connection at the first plate member.
By means of the configuration of the string member, a handle is formed for lifting and displacing the package arrangement. According to an embodiment, the string member is arranged in in a loop around the first plate member and around the second plate member.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the first connection and the second connection at the first plate member is arranged on opposite sides of a centre of mass of the plate with respect to the extension of the plate. Thereby, it is assured that the package arrangement can be lifted and displaced without tilting the bottles.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the arrangement comprises a detachable connection member adapted to act on the first plate member and the second plate member so the that the first plate member and the second plate member are forced towards each other.
The detachable connection member pushes the first plate member and the second plate member towards each other. Thereby, it is assured that the position of the plate members is maintained.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the connection member comprises a strap or a loop of an elastic material.
