Beskrivelsen og patentkravene vil danne grunnlag for produksjon og utplassering av merder som vil være fri fra lakselus og delvis andre sykdommer. Dette vil også gjelde for merder for annen type fiskeoppdrett. Alle sidene av beskrivelsen og patentkravene er teknisk mulige, og prisen for merder som beskrevet vil kunne bli overkommelig ved volumproduksjon av slike. Prisen for drift av slike merder bør også være overkommelig, og da spesielt med sammenligning av hva slags tap og dårlig omdømme koster oppdrettsbransjen.
