Description

The present invention relates to a new structure of a twin hook, as given in preamble of the following claim 1.
An essential object of the invention is to have the advantage of håving a twin hook, where the hook angle will adjust to the sling angle, and thereby you can cope with different lifting/sling angles without overloading the hook.
Thus it is an object for the two hooks of the assembly to operate to automatically adjust their individual position or direction as to the rotation axis of the It is also an object to provide for preferred uses of the hook structure.
In short:
• It consists of two hooks that can have the same or different capacities.
• One is made with an eye interface in the top.
• The other is made with a Clevis interface in the top, and so that the eye hook fits into the clevis. • Both of them are connected with the same pin, either to a shackle as shown or a plate shackle.
The hooks can also be used one by one.
The structure according to the invention is shown in drawing figures 1 and 2 in two different perspective. Figure 3,4 and 5 show different drawing of the assembly and the two individual hook structures.
The hook structure of the present invention ischaracterized bythe features as defined in the following independent claim 1 and dependent patent claims.
By referring to figure 1 and 2, there is shown the hook assembly 40 mounted on suspending in or connection to for example a lifting line, such as wire, lifting hawser of a crane for handling loads such as cargo or to operate anchoring systems at sea. In this example two separate hook structures 20 and 30 are mounted to rotate individually on a common axle 52 around an axis 50 in a shackle as shown by 40 in figures 1 and 2. The shackle consist normally of two parallel legs 42 and 44 to anchor the hook structures via the rotation axle 50.
Each hook structure comprise a (in vertical) neck part 24,34 while the horn or hook tips are shown at 23 and 33 respectively. The hook body is curved as well known and define line or sling 60 and 62 entrances shown at 22 and 32 respectively.
The top interface part of a plate shape for connecting to the shackle axle 50 includes an eye section. The top interface part is also defined as a Clevis structure. The entrances 22,32 of the two hooks may also be closed by a not shown latch structure.
The two hooks is arranged to rotate mutually individually around the common axis 50/axle 52 between the shackle legs 42 and 44.
According to a preferred embodiment the two hook structures are mounted so that their curved portion, Le. the hook entrances 22 and 32 are directed in opposite directions.
According to a preferred embodiment one of (a first) the hooks, here No. 20 of the figures, is arranged to be anchored between the anchoring structure to the axle 52 of the second hook structure 30. This is performed by the second hook structure for connecting to the axle 52 is formed by a clevis structure, i.e. two separate plate structures 36 and 38 (figures 2, 3 and 5) respectively, and the first hook structure 20 is a single plate structure 37 (figures 2,3 and 4) mounted on the axle 52 in between said two separate plate structures 38 and 38.
This leads to the that the second hook structure 30 with its neck 34 in some way rides on the back (i.e. the neck 24) of the first hook structure 20. This structure gives some restrictions to the mutual movement or rotation properties of the two hooks 20 and 30, but one of their objects in this invention is to handle slings, for example as shown by the two slings 60 and 62 leading in two different angle directions.
Thus, as mentioned above a major advantage of this is that twin hook is now established, where the hook angle will adjust automatic to the sling angle, and thereby one can cope with different lifting/sling angles without overloading the hook. The hooks 20 and 30 can also be used one by one.

Claims (7)

1. Hook structure connecting hoisting line, characterized in thatthe hook structure is a twin hook structure of first (20) and second hooks (30), wherein each of the hook structures (20) and are individually rotatable (pivotable) on a common axis (50).
2. Hook structure according to claims 1-2,characterized in thatthe common axis (50) is represented by a hook (20,30) anchoring axle or bolt (52) of a clevis structured shackle (40;42,44).
3. Hook structure according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that. the second hook structure (30) for connecting to the axis (50) / axle (52) is formed by a clevis structure, i.e. two separate plate structures (36,38) (figures 2, 3 and 5) respectively, and the first hook structure 20 is a single plate structure 37 (figures 2, 3 and 4) mounted on the axle 52 in between said two separate plate structures (38 and 38).
4. Hook structure according to claim 1,characterized in thatthe two hook structures (20;30) are mounted so that their the hook entrances (22 and 32) are directed in mutually opposite directions.
5. Hook structure according to claim 1,characterized in thatthe hook assembly (40) is mounted mounted or suspending in or connection to for example a lifting line, such as wire, lifting hawser of a crane for handling loads such as cargo or to operate anchoring systems at sea.
6. Use of the hook structure according to claims 1 to 4, to handle load slings which are directed in different angles from the hook (20,30), in that the hooks individually will adjust automatic to the sling angle, and thereby one can cope with different lifting/sling angles without overloading the hook.
7. Use of the hook structure according to claims 1 to 4, in that the hooks (20) and 30 are used one by one.
