Abstract

Oppfinnelsen tilveiebringer et system og en fremgangsmåte for integrering av petroleumssystem- og geomekaniske datamaskinmodeller til bruk ved olje- og gassleting. I én utførelsesform tilveiebringer oppfinnelsen en petroleumssystemmodell som er i stand til å analysere data vedrørende en undergrunnsformasjon og beregne geometrien og geokjemien til hvert formasjonslag gjennom geologisk tid. Foreliggende oppfinnelse tilveiebringer også en geomekanisk modell i kommunikasjon med petroleumssystemmodellen slik at informasjon vedrørende hvert lag i undergrunnsformasjonen kan deles og kryssrefereres som en iterativ operasjon før analyse av etterfølgende lag. Ved hvert trinn i den iterative operasjonen blir resultater beregnet, validert og kryssreferert for å generere mer pålitelige estimater av petroleumspotensial og mekanisk forseglingsintegritet for undergrunnsformasjonen.
