Ifølge oppfinnelsen blir det fra den på denne måten tilveiebrakte transformerte beregnet en glidende middelverdi med bestemmelse av kvantiler. Middelverdien legges til grunn for utledning av en vurderingsfunksjon (K(t)) som anviser forekomsten av en impulslignende mekanisk innvirkning på anleggsdelen (2).
