Abstract
Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte, et system og et apparat for å gjennomføre en reservoarsimulering ved hjelp av en reservoarmodell, hvor et område av interesse er inndelt ved hjelp av et gitter. Gitteret i området av interesse har en eller flere celletyper, idet celletypene kan skilles fra hverandre ved hjelp av antallet ukjente variabler som representerer egenskaper ved cellen. Cellene deler en felles variabel som en ukjent variabel. Fremgangsmåten omfatter trinn hvor forskjellige celletyper identifiseres for gitteret, en samlet matrise for reservoarmodellen konstrueres på grunnlag av de forskjellige celletyper, fellesvariabelen frakobles i det minste delvis de andre ukjente variabler i matrisen ved å bruke en reduksjonsprosess som gir en redusert matrise, variablene i den reduserte matrise brytes opp i k delsett etter celletype, en overlappende rnultiplikativ Schwartz-prosedyre anvendes på den reduserte matrise for å oppnå en prekondisjonerer og prekondisjonereren brukes for å finne løsningen for de ukjente variabler.
