Industrikniven er typisk en bestrykningskniv og er fremstilt fra et stort antall formdukslag, hvor hvert formdukslag er dannet fra en blanding av polyamid og kopolyester, som derved danner en tykk filt. Et polyuretanbelegg påføres en kant av den tykke filten og filten kuttes ved en vinkel på den belagte kanten.
