Abstract
Et borerør (134) danner en akustisk transmisjonskanal for sending av data fra en nedihullstransceiver (136) til en overflatetransceiver (132). Ved å plassere en første lavfrekvens, akustisk attenuator (154) mellom en borkrone (156) og nedihullstransceiveren (136) vil akustisk støy generert av borkronen bli dempet.Ved å plassere overflatetransceiveren (132) mellom toppen av borerøret (134) og en andre lavfrekvens, akustisk attenuator (130) vil på tilsvarende måte støy generert av overflateutstyr bli dempet. På denne måte vil den første og den andre lavfrekvens, akustiske attenuator (130, 154) fungere som terminatorer for den akustiske transmisjonskanal.
