En inhibitiv vannbasert polymer slamsystem og fremgangsmåte for bruk av systemet ved boring i og stabilisering av brønner i vannsensitive formasjoner, som et alternativ til oljebaserte slam. Systemet omfatter et ikke-ionisk lavmolekylvekts polyakrylamid i kombinasjon med et ikke-ionisk høymolekylvekts polyakrylamid, fortrinnsvis langkjedet alkohol eller polyol og polyanionisk cellulose.
