Abstract

Anordning og fremgangsmåte for akustisk telemetri som tilveiebringer retningsbestemt deteksjon. l én utførelsesform omfatter en beskrevet akustisk telemetrianordning minst to akustiske følere og en elektronikkmodul. En første av de akustiske følerne detekterer et kommunikasjonssignal som forplanter seg langs en rørstreng i en første retning. En andre av de akustiske følerne er innrettet for å detektere kommunikasjonssignalet før den første akustiske føleren. Elektronikkmodulen kombinerer de detekterte signalene fra de akustiske følerne for å frembringe et kombinert signal som hovedsakelig utelukker signaler som forplanter seg i en retning motsatt for kommunikasjonssignalet. Denne signalundertrykkelsen kan i betydelig grad forbedre kommunikasjonssignalets signal-støy-forhold, og dermed øke kanalkapasiteten. Den akustiske telemetrianordningen kan innrettes for å støtte logging under boring og/eller full duplekskommunikasjon.
