Den foreliggende oppfinnelse tilveiebringer et apparat i stand til å påvirke eksplosjonsenergi under borehullanvendelse. I en utførelsesform kan et dekselelement (80) eller annet interfererende element arrangeres nær en eksplosiv ladning (16) før detonasjon. Størrelsen og posisjoneringen av dekselelementet (80) i forhold til den eksplosive ladning (16) kan manipuleres for å oppnå en optimal eksplosjonsorientering. Et ringelement med en boring derigjennom kan anvendes for å styre ekspliosjonsenergien av ladningen etter detonasjon.
