Abstract

Et system og en fremgangsmåte for å etablere kommunikasjon mellom en klient i et første nettverk og en webtjenesteserver i et andre nettverk, idet hvert nettverk er beskyttet av en nettverksadressetranslatør og en brannmur. Løsningen inkluderer en klientproxy i det første nettverket, en serverproxy i det andre nettverket, og en Rendezvous-server som er ekstern for både det første og det andre nettverket. Klienten er innrettet til å etablere en forbindelse til webtjenesteserveren gjennom Rendezvous-serveren, som deretter videresender en globalt tilgjengelig IP-adresse og portnummer for klienten til webtjenesteserveren og en globalt tilgjengelig IP-adresse og portnummer for webtjenesteserveren til klienten, hvoretter klienten og webtjenesteserveren etablerer en direkte forbindelse seg imellom ved bruk av nevnte adresser. 1
