Abstract

In one embodiment, a device for deflecting a casing using a deflection device is disclosed. In another embodiment, the device consists of a motor drive system that has been placed in a motor system rack, a shaft that has been operatively attached to motor drive systems, and in which the shaft has a passageway, and a drain assembly which has been positioned in such a way that it conducts fluid flow selectively to motor drive system and throughput into the shaft. In another aspect, methods and apparatus for drilling a casing in a particular direction into a formation are disclosed. Methods and apparatus for measuring the borehole path into the formation are also described.
